Over the next few months, we'll be posting some Q&A with our members across our national network from our claims and underwriting teams. We believe it's the fantastic people across the MB team that are key to providing our customers with superior service.

Gemma Fallows - QLD Senior Underwriter
Gemma Fallows is one of our stars in the QLD office based on the Gold Coast. We took a few moments with Gemma and asked some hard-hitting questions, so you get to know more about her outside the wide world of insurance.

How long you have you been at MB?
I started with MB back in November 2014 … so wow, that’s nearly 11 and a half years now. Time flies when you’re having fun!

What's your dream car or garage look like?
I’ve always been a big fan of Top Gun, so my dream car would have to be the Porsche 356a driven by Charlie in the movie…. I’d especially like it if a young Tom Cruise was in the passenger seat too!

Favourite car game or movie?
You can’t beat a good game of Spotto on a long car journey. Fallows family rules dictate that the winner gets to pick the playlist for the return journey, so it can get pretty competitive.

What got you into insurance?
My move into Insurance wasn’t intentional… it was more of a right place, right time thing.
But I’m so glad I got into the industry – it’s given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in a field I previously knew nothing about, and I’ve met so many great people along the way!!

What do you like about our niche motor segment?
I love that we can assist with the Japanese/grey imported vehicles. It’s always a great feeling when you can say yes to the hard to place risks and still offer a product with such great policy benefits.

If you weren't working in Insurance, what would you be doing?
I’ve always loved watching hospital dramas (Greys Anatomy, New Amsterdam etc) … so I think in another life I would have loved to don a set of scrubs and make my money in the operating room. Although if my button-sewing abilities are anything to go by, it’s probably a very good thing that I ended up in insurance.

Favourite driving song (or songs!) for when it’s just you and the open road?
Tina Turner - Proud Mary …. I need to keep the windows closed when I’m belting out that one, for the safety of other road users!
